The Role

Oxfam International Secretariat is currently establishing a Global Case Management System for recording and tracking allegations of misconduct (including safeguarding and fraud / corruption).

The post-holder will manage the safeguarding component of this system, and will complement and work with staff throughout the confederation who have responsible for recording, investigating, and reporting on cases of misconduct.

They will also produce a wide range of safeguarding-related reporting, undertake coordination and broader information management for the safeguarding team.

Child Safeguarding

As an agency undertaking work both nationally and internationally and in humanitarian response, Oxfam takes its duty of care seriously to safeguard children and recognizes that it must meet community expectations and the trust placed in its personnel to maintain the highest standards of conduct with children.

Therefore, all positions within Oxfam are required to understand and comply with the Child Safeguarding Policy.

  • This role requires Oxfam representation when occasionally visiting the field
  • This role requires access to information relating to children.
  • This role involves making decisions related to information, which may affect children, including volunteers and other supporters under the age of 18.
  • The post-holder will ensure confidentiality at all times, safeguarding the safety of the survivor / complainant, protect the integrity of the investigations and reporting, and work closely with Global Safeguarding Team to mitigate risks associated with disclosure.

    What we're looking for

    We are looking for an experienced and accountable information management professional, with a high degree of integrity, to join our team.

    You will have demonstrated knowledge and solid experience in managing and utilising information systems which meet user needs.

    This includes experience in database management and maintenance, and in gathering, analysing, presenting on and reporting quantitative and qualitative data.

    Experience in and understanding of upholding confidentiality is essential, and prior experience in working with safeguarding systems is desirable.

    Very good organizational and communication skills including : accuracy, consistency, attention to detail, tenacity, and the ability to work under pressure, are essential.

    In addition, you will have the ability to workload plan, and demonstrate accountability for outputs, with minimal direct supervision.

    Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others will be critical - including in a multicultural and global team, within a complex and networked organisation.

    You will have demonstrated experience in training others (especially on systems use) and ensuring the quality and integrity of reporting and use of systems.

    As that this is a new team and role, the expectation is that duties may evolve over time.
