Based in Kenya, and as a member of the senior management team, you will be responsible for leading and ensuring that operations are in line with the new strategic framework of the organization.
You will develop and ensure implementation and compliance of procedures and policies to reach operational efficiency.
In charge of the Finance, HR and Information Technology teams within the East African office, you will have to ensure that they provide a high-quality, business-focused service to stakeholders.
You also have overall responsibility to ensure that the East African Office complies with the Kenyan regulatory requirements across Finance, ICT and HR & Administration including Health and Safety.
Your main responsibilities will be to :
Ensure the production of quality financial reports and that the statutory annual accounts for the regional office are prepared and submitted to the relevant authorities on a timely basis,
Provide financial planning forecasts in terms of resource allocation, income and expenditure for the regional office, to lead on the development of business plans,
Oversee the operation and monitoring of a system of budgetary control for the Regional and field offices, ensure effective bank relationships and negotiate with bankers,
Ensure that the organization risk management process is operated effectively by all staff and that strategic risks are reported and managed,
Support the delivery of the ambition of doubling income by 2022, in collaboration with colleagues in resource mobilization, new business development and technical teams,
Be responsible for the relationship with the relevant statutory authorities and external auditors ensuring that the regional office is correctly meeting its obligations under current Kenyan legislation,
Provide strategic direction on matters relating to health and safety, including travel safety,
Responsible for the development and implementation of an HR business partner model,
Ensure compliance with Kenyan employment legislation and implementation of the organization's people strategy,
Oversee ICT and infrastructure to facilitate efficient communication between the regional office and stakeholders.
The Successful Applicant
Ideally, you hold a post-graduate qualification in Business Administration & Management (MBA / MSc) or equivalent standard of education.
You are a fully qualified chartered accountant and have a minimum of ten years of experience in a similar position in an NGO.
You have a track record of proven ability in staff management and team building. Together with, significant experience of implementing risk based financial control systems.
You possess excellent communication and financial management skills.
You are fluent in English and have excellent written and spoken communication skills in French.
