The first ALX site launched in Nairobi in October 2018. We offer unique Xcelerator training programmes for mid-level Managers in growing leadership roles, as well as high impact workshops and events.

The Content Marketing Lead is responsible for developing and implementing the ALX content marketing strategy in coordination with the Head of Marketing & Branding.

You will set topics for our content production across various professional and social media channels, and monitor the effectiveness of different distribution channels & articles.

You will also oversee content development from a team of copywriters and content writers, and act as editor-in-chief to ensure consistency and writing quality and style.

In this role, you will gain significant experience creating and overseeing content marketing strategy at a fast-growing organization, while managing a team of 3-

5 content producers. We are looking for leaders committed to the African future to join our team in the role of Content Marketing Lead.


  • Setting the content marketing strategy in coordination with the Head of Sales & Marketing
  • Setting the content marketing calendar for ALX Nairobi, Lagos, and Johannesburg
  • Sourcing and selecting copywriters & content writers
  • Acting as project manager across a team of 3-5 copywriters & content writers
  • Ensuring consistency and quality of written content
  • Supporting internal departmental Marketing and Content requests
  • Giving support in Marketing events happening in ALX Nairobi
  • Support Digital Marketing Acquisition campaigns

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Management, Communications or a related field a plus.
  • 2+ years prior work experience in content marketing and / or editorial experience
  • Project management skills and attention to detail
  • A thorough understanding of online marketing technologies and strategies, with a balance of hands-on execution.
  • Ability to manage an organization’s social presence across platforms and successfully engage followers with engaging content
  • Strong collaboration skills in managing stakeholders and agencies to achieve agreed goals.
  • Knowledge of latest internet trends, business models, social media policies and web / SEO technologies
  • Excellent verbal / written communication
  • Good eye for design and aesthetics
  • Knowledge of Kiswahili
  • Experience making data-driven decisions
