Job Summary

  • JobPurpose

    To assist the Senior Legal Officer and the CompanySecretary in executing their assigned responsibilities

    MainResponsibilities.

  • Followup with external lawyers on progress of various litigated matters, andescalating to the Management if necessary,
  • DraftLegal and advisory opinions, Legal documents such as contracts, applicationsand affidavits, and carrying out legal research,
  • Log anddistribute incoming mail including regular and electronic mail,
  • Assist insetting up, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic filing systems inaccordance with recognized procedures and standards,
  • Update statusand tracking Legal reports,
  • Collect andretrieve information from files as needed,
  • Compilingdepartmental reports,
  • Editingcorrespondence, minutes, letters, memos, and presentations,
  • Review andproofread documents and correspondence to ensure accuracy,
  • Process anddistribute legal documents effectively,
  • Provideadministrative support including copying, and scanning of Legal Documents,
  • Maintainaccurate expense account records for Legal matters,
  • Prepare andprocess expense reports and reconciliations,
  • Getaffidavits and other formal statements that may be used as evidence in court,and
  • Call clients,witnesses, lawyers, and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, anddepositions.
  • Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor of LawsDegree from a recognized University
  • At least 2-3 yearsrelevant experience (good knowledge in Commercial Law)
  • Membership ofInstitute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK) will be an addedadvantage
  • High levels ofintegrity, Leadership / interpersonal skills, analytical as well as reportwriting skills and,
  • Ability to workwith minimum supervision
