  • Job Description

    The Joint Building and Construction Councilis registered as a Company founded by The Architectural Association of Kenya(AAK) and the Kenya Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors(KABCEC) in 1980

  • It’s Objectives among others is to promotethe consideration and discussion of all questions affecting the buildingindustry (which expression in this Memorandum includes the trade of buildersand contractors for the execution of public and private works, the practice ofthe professions of architect, surveyor and engineer, and all ancillary andallied trades and professions, and every branch of such trades or professions);
  • JBCC seeks to recruit an experienced,self-motivated and ambitious skilled individual of high integrity to take upthe role of a Programmes Officer to handle its pricing index and otherprogrammes a they are developed.

    The Programmes Officer will work closely withprofessionals and stakeholders in the building industry-including policy makers,manufacturers, real estate developers, financial institutions etc.

    to ensurecompliance and the generation of high-quality cost and pricing proposals forconstruction projects nationally. The Programmes Officer will also developpricing strategies by performing cost analysis.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct pricing strategy formulation and take necessary pricingactions to enhance profitability, ensuring integrity and accuracy in allpricing matters.
  • Identify pricing solutions through cost / benefit analysis of differentscenarios or best practices to inform / propose to the industry
  • Maintain and regularly update a pricing history database
  • Perform financial evaluation to assess pricing action effectiveness
  • Analyze financial impact of price approach in view of overall history
  • Ensure efficient layout, development, and production of compliantbudgets, including cost models / templates, formats, and pricing rationale inaccordance with solicitation instructions, technical approach, corporatepolicies and JBCC requirements.
  • Present Findings to Key Decision-Makers
  • Monitoring Industry Trends
  • Providing support in implementing other programmes for JBCC asinstructed by a duly authorized official
  • Basic Education

  • Bachelor's degree Quantity Surveying, Finance or related Background
  • 1+ years of pricingknowledge and experience
  • RequiredCompetencies

  • Skill in budgetingand financial analysis, as well as the proven ability to handle financial andquantitative information with accuracy & precision.
