    About Nourishing Africa a 'Home for 1 Million Agri-FoodEntrepreneurs Transforming Africa’s Agricultural Landscape, is a digitalplatform focused on agri-food entrepreneurs who are transforming the Africanagriculture and food landscapes.

    The platform is a one-stop-hub for theseentrepreneurs, leveraging innovative channels to provide critical links todata, funding, knowledge, access to regional markets, e-learning, African foodand chefs, career opportunities, and other resources to help them to scaletheir businesses.

    The mission of Nourishing Africa is to "attract,empower, equip, connect and celebrate over 1 Million dynamic and innovativeyoung entrepreneurs who will drive the profitable and sustainable growth of theAfrican agriculture and food landscapes".

    As such, this hub serves as aplatform for these stakeholders to accelerate their work, connect with eachother, and celebrate their successes on the continent.

    Nourishing Africa is seeking to employ a Regional Coordinator inKenya to join its team of young, dynamic professionals working to transform theagri-food industry in Africa.

    Job Description

    Inthis role, you will be required to fulfill the following primaryresponsibilities working as a key member of the Nourishing Africa team :

  • Serve as the primary contact person for yourdesignated geographic region
  • Drive recruitment and engagement of NourishingAfrica hub members in their region
  • Promote Nourishing Africa locally andregionally, widely amplifying the organization name and communicating NourishingAfrica activities to potential members, partners and other stakeholders
  • Proactively seek out local and regionalpartnership opportunities for Nourishing Africa
  • Set up physical or virtual meetings withpotential partners in the region
  • Support the production of region-specific communicationmaterials such as articles, op-eds and newsletters in English and in locallanguages where applicable
  • Provide region-specific industry updates,insights, feedback and recommendations
  • Identify local business opportunities andchallenges and determine key regional resources to aid operations and businessgrowth
  • Recommend appropriate strategies for theimplementation of Nourishing Africa programs, initiatives and events in theirregion
  • Coordinate local and regional convenings,workshops and meetings as required
  • Represent Nourishing Africa at appropriatemeetings and events
  • Prepare and submit weekly, quarterly andannual reports on country and regional engagements to the Management
  • Participate in all assigned administrative andsupervisory functions and in staff and team meetings, training and staffdevelopment activities as scheduled
  • Countries Covered : Nourishing Africa priority countries in East Africaincluding Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda and other countries inthe region as the need arises

    Minimum Qualifications &Requirements

    We are looking for candidates whoare self-motivated, committed to excellence, with a passion for the agriculturesector. Below are key qualifications that we require :

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Business,Social Sciences, Agriculture or other related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ professional experienceworking with a reputable firm in a related role in the agriculture sector
  • Strong organizational skills, time managementskills and attention to detail
  • Excellent programme planning and managementskills
  • Excellent oral, written, and publiccommunication skills
  • Excellent networking ability and access to networksof stakeholders in the agriculture sector within the region
  • Ability to work independently, beself-directed and demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to work effectively as part of amulti-cultural team
  • Demonstrable research skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation andnegotiation skills
  • Excellent problem solving, planning and organizingskills
  • Ability to work under pressure with strictdeadlines
  • Willingness to participate in fieldactivities / surveys and travel to remote areas within the region
  • Proficient in MS office suite
  • Willing and able to travel
  • Fluency in French is an advantage
