Job Description
Location : 4 positions available in Homabay.
Salary Range : Ksh 20,000-30,000
Under the guidance and supervision of the supervisor the cashier will, in general, be needed to fulfil the following roles and responsibilities :
Objective 1 : Cash-handling duties :
The key role is to maintain the petty cash for several lines of activity (projects) in accurate order, while guaranteeing efficiency in transactions. This includes :
Safely keeping and handling the cash
Undertaking regular cash counts on weekly basis and at the end of each month to confirm that books reflect existing physical amounts
Preparing and making payments
Keeping track of cash levels, and prepare fund request when needed
When necessary, running errands to pay suppliers or utilities
Issue cash advances upon authorization and ensure receipts and cash balances are received
Issuing appropriate receipts whenever cash is issued or received
Objective 2 : Bookkeeping :
Keeping up-to-date cash books and bank books
Submitting cash books and bank books to the Accountant on a monthly basis
Ensuring relations and communication with the collaborating financial institutions
Calculating and submitting local tax returns
Filing of monthly financial reports
Records keeping of the expense sheets
Objective 3 : Filing and Archiving
Responsible of the filing of all the administrative documents
Check the coherence between the accountancy and the supporting documents
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma in Business management or any related Field.
Must be conversant with POS Micros or Fidelio or Opera systems
Must have 3-5 years previous experience in a hotel setting in a 4 star or 5 star hotel
Good customer service, communications and interpersonal skills are a must.
Strong proficiency in mathematics and statistics
Ability to organize data and draft reports on daily, weekly and monthly basis
Strong communication skills that help to develop courteous conversation with the customers
Proficient in managing the rush of customers and helping each one of them promptly
