    Lipa Later Limited is a financial serviceprovider based in Kenya and Rwanda that offers payment plans for consumers andbusinesses looking to buy and sell products and services in monthlyinstallments.

    About the Role :

    Reporting to the Finance Manager, the SeniorAccountant will be responsible for providing financial, administrative, andclerical support to the organization.

    They will process transactions as per theorganization's financial policies regarding loans and financial reports andensure the company maintains accurate financial information.

    Reports to : Finance Manager

    Key responsibilityarea will include :

  • Loan controls management
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Expense Management
  • Statutory Compliance
  • Tax Management
  • Preparation of payables reconciliations for Suppliers and Partners
  • Financial Reporting
  • Partner relationship management
  • Coordinate the update of the general ledger for all cash and bank movements.
  • GL Accounting of Payments on the accounting system.
  • Maintain supplier and partner contacts and payment details.
  • Key responsibilities will include :

  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable, general ledgers and receivable
  • Verify, allocate, post loan disbursements, repayments and repossessions on the loan management system
  • Produce error-free Management Accounts and present their results
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Provide technical support and advice on Management Accounts
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers
  • Participate in financial standards setting and in the forecast process
  • Provide input into the department’s goal-setting process
  • Assist with tax audits and tax returns
  • Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
  • Plan, assign and review Accountant staff’s work
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
  • Liaise with the Finance Manager for overall finance department improvement and compliance
  • Qualifications and skills, we are looking for :

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA / ACCA qualification.
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Senior Accountant role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and excellent skills in Excel
  • Experience in working with an ERP and / or Accounting Software / or Loan Management Software
  • Experience in working with Suite will be an added advantage
  • Keen to detail and accuracy required and willing to learn
