  • Job Description

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Board, ChiefExecutive and senior managers are fully informed of the Company's financialperformance. Develop and maintain systems to provide up to date and accuratefinancial information
  • Review, update andensure compliance with financial systems, policies, procedures and emergingbest practices that are in compliance with generally accepted accountingpolicies.
  • Manage the annualbudgeting, forecasting and audit processes, ensuring the successfulimplementation of audit recommendations.
  • Manage the Finance andAdministration team to achieve optimal performance, including the management ofworkloads, resourcing and performance management
  • Work with the Chief Executive Officer and Departmentheads to develop the overall company budget for the year and ensure that alldepartments adhere to budgetary requirements
  • Prepare monthly BoardFinancial Reports for Board approval and decision making
  • Ensure cash flow iscompatible with company operations, by overseeing the day-to-day accounting,recording, reporting, and internal control activities of the organization
  • Perform risk managementthrough analysis of company’s liabilities and investments, and evaluate andmanage capital structure and fundraising initiatives
  • Research revenueopportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, identify areasof cost reduction and process enhancement
  • Utilize forward-lookingmodels and financialprojections to provide financial insight into theorganization’s plans and operating budgets.
  • Manage staff transportand oversee travel and accommodation requirements for employee work relatedtravel
  • Ensure admin policiesand procedures are shared with all staff and adhered to. Revise policies andprocedures to adapt to changes in the work environment
  • Negotiate and facilitatepurchases of office supplies, furniture and equipment and ensure all requiredsupplies are available at all times and on time
  • Qualifications

  • 10 years’experience in Finance / Accounting in the service industry
  • Excellentknowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Proficient in theuse of MS Office and financial management software
  • Ability tostrategize and solve problems
  • Strongorganizational skills
  • Excellentcommunication and people skills
  • A stronganalytical mind
  • Knowledge of corporatefinance law and risk management practices in Kenya, East Africa a plus
  • CPA (K) or ACCAis a strong advantage
  • BSc / BA inAccounting, Finance or relevant field; MSc / MBA is a plus
