We believe great education & development is an important part of developing leaders and the biggest barrier to tertiary education in Africa remains access to educational finance.

At African Leadership Finance Company (ALFC), our mission is to provide leaders with affordable & innovative financing for high-quality education.

ALFC has been set up to provide an innovative solution to this problem by introducing Income Sharing Agreements (ISAs) that invest in the future potential of a person’s ability to generate an income.

Under the ISA funding model, ALFC funds students to attend university or receive professional training; in return, the students agree to pay ALFC a fixed percentage of their income for a specific period of time.

ALFC presents a tremendous opportunity for these students, and potentially millions of others denied access to education due to the absence of financing alternatives.

Beyond funding education at ALG’s programs, ALFC has the potential to expand further into funding a broader talent membership, offer the service to other tertiary education providers, create a loyalty program and partnerships with other institutions.

Through offering and serving ISAs, ALFC will enable the youth of Africa to unlock their futures based solely on their potential and not their financial circumstances.


A critical area to drive the success of ALFC is our engagement with our clients, especially from the onboarding & application process through their time in the education program.

This is a critical time which sets the foundation for the 5 10 year post-graduation relationship that we have with our clients.

As Head of Student Relations you will be responsible for establishing this foundation by being the primary interface for applicants and students with everything from marketing communications, managing the ISA application process across locations, and maintaining client contact throughout their education.

To build this connection, you will lead a team of recent graduates across campuses and need to be an enthusiastic, high-

energy culture carrier with a strong belief in the mission of ALFC.


  • Build long-term relationships and keep students connected and engaged
  • Develop and execute a marketing and communications strategy (incl. email, calls, social media, face-to-face etc.) for building a foundational relationship with our clients
  • Run events which build ALFC’s & AL Group’s brand with students
  • Collaborate with the Collections Team to manage interactions with graduated clients which have built relationships with the student engagement team
  • Develop and run financial education and other courses for students on campus
  • Drive a smooth application & on-boarding journey across campuses and locations
  • Work closely with the engineering (IT) and product teams to develop a lean & efficient application & student portal
  • Foster strong relationships with ALX & ALU to leverage their support when necessary

  • 5+ years of experience working in a student or client engagement role or with a consulting background in similar fields, marketing experience a plus.
  • Experience in growing and leading diverse teams spread across multiple geographies, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding new team members
  • Great management and team development skills , including ability to define a roadmap and goals, delegate, mentor, deliver frequent and honest feedback, help team members grow in their careers, and deliver results.
  • Highly organized with the ability to work on a variety of different projects while remaining client-focused at all times
  • Ability to work with & build relationships with a range of internal & external stakeholders .
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience communicating across a variety of regions, cultures & nationalities.
