responsibilities :

  • Leading marketing efforts to ensure enrolments align with the strategy
  • Develop and articulate a compelling vision for the development of the school’s culture and student programs for holistic education
  • Offer leadership in the development of a motivated and competent teaching team including coaching of teachers
  • Model a consistent tone of highest expectations for academic excellence and godly character among staff, students and parents.
  • Develop and implement a behaviour management approach that fosters the school ethos
  • Develop and strengthen partnerships with the educational authorities, other schools and other stakeholders to provide enriching academic and extracurricular opportunity for students
  • Lead key school rituals as needed to model and ingrain an enviable culture;
  • Identify and appropriately respond to school culture breeches;
  • Partner with parents and other key community stakeholders to build the Schools’ brand;
  • Plan and lead school staff meetings and follow through on key resolutions
  • Carry out internal and external communication with varied stakeholders
  • Oversee preparation of timetables, class schedules and room allocation for all classes
  • Managing student affairs and ensuring their welfare is taken care of
  • Identify strategies for the development of a model school to the Board
  • Preparing reports and submitting them to the Board
  • Ensure the school is kept abreast of any new regulations affecting learning from the ministry of education, other regulatory bodies and the Kenyan law.
  • Managing the performance and appraisal for teachers and administrative staff
  • Skills and Qualifications required :

  • At least a Diploma in Education or an Education degree from a recognized institution
  • Be registered with the Teachers Service Commission
  • At least 5 years’ experience in education with at least 3 years in classroom teaching in diverse classrooms
  • Experienced in working in multi-cultural settings
  • Experience in diverse instructional approaches
  • School management training or proven track record of the same
  • Possess some basic training in management
  • Understanding of the Competence Based Curriculum
  • A born again and committed Christian
  • Self-driven and able to work with minimum or no supervision at all
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Good reporting skills
  • Interpersonal and negotiations skills
  • Computer proficient in basic Excel, Word and PowerPoint and use of basic dashboards
  • Able to lead and motivate a growing and diverse team
  • A passion for teaching and raising a godly generation
  • Reference from at least one spiritual leader

    The Head-teacher shall take charge of the school administration functions that include school growth; visibility, teacher management, discipline, financial management, communication and reporting strategies are developed and implemented.
