    Key responsibilities

    Managing Local Sales :

  • Develop and implement local marketing and advertising campaigns
  • Follow up on all new, big orders to ensure smooth onboarding prior to handover
  • Manage and work with Merchandiser to ensure produce is correctly displayed in-store; provide special instructions on product promotions, new products, and price changes ensuring these are properly executed
  • Send confirmations by email to all new customer orders (confirmations are pulled from the system)
  • Liaise with clients on day to day adjustment on orders
  • Prepare / analyse sales reports I trends to assist management in decision making,
  • Generate weekly packaging requirements from orders received and ensure any change / promos are clearly communicated to the packaging team in time,
  • Ensure all statements and delivery notes are issued to customers
  • Oversee the follow up on client's portfolio payment
  • Ensure all prices are updated as per the season and clients.
  • Optimise quality of service, business growth e.g. by anticipating about their orders and suggesting promotions.
  • Develop strategies for more effective sales, both individually and as part of a team
  • Ensure all client orders are well planned for and executed by the Sales & Logistics Coordinator
  • Consider and prepare possible promotions for key clients
  • Review Ops spec with Technical team to ensure quality consistency
  • Customer relationships :

  • New client visitation road-plans
  • Maintain optimum communication and relation with clients to ensure optimum customer satisfaction
  • Initiate and develop a strong relationship with customers e.g. advise on possible promotions or extra volume options
  • Determine customers' needs and collect customer feedback in relation to product orders
  • Brief the sales team, Commercial Manager, and Sales & Logistics Director on any important matters arising from daily communication with clients,
  • Promote new product, commercial trials and develop sales volume in kilos, prices and turnover.
  • Assist Claims Team with any client issues; returns numbers must be confirmed by Local Sales OfficerKey Metrics :
  • The following reports fall within the Local Sales Officer’s remit for presentation at Weekly Sales meeting;
  • Daily Deliveries and Payment reports
  • Daily Order confirmation report (follow-up on all new, big orders requiring 2 days advance notice)
  • Weekly Client performance reports (checklist - viability of customer and whether they are meeting orders)
  • Weekly Payment reports
  • Weekly New client feedback report
  • Weekly Business growth report
  • Weekly Promotion mechanics report - provide feedback on the big players and line trends and prepare strategic plan - promotion calendar, prospect / meeting projections.
  • Any other duties as may be reasonably directed from time to time by the Management.

    Competences required : 1. Diploma in marketing / sales.2. Experience in similar post (3-5 years). Knowledge of fresh produce would be beneficial.

    3. Experience in carrying our market research and developing analysis, papers, surveys and reports.4. Strong communication, presentation and sales skills.

    Must be an excellent telephone and face-to-face communicator. Confident and enthusiastic communicator essential. 5. Able to demonstrate success and experience of managing accounts, achieving genuine sales development.

    6. A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance.7. Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with company executives at all levels.

    8. Keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability.9. Able to get on with others and be a team-player. Motivates self and others to achieve team objectives10.

    Must be skilled in using MS office, Outlook, Excel, Word, Internet and email.
