Duties and Responsibilities
Provide advice for non-prescription medications
Oversee sale of prescribed medicines to our clients and generate revenue by calculating, recording, and issuing charges;
Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies;
placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs and re-order level to prevent stockout
Maintains records by recording and filing physicians’ orders and prescriptions;
Maintain internal and external safeguards regarding storage and dispensing of pharmacy products by complying with procedures, protocols, rules, and regulations;
Maintain detailed, meticulous records of all use of medicines, especially of controlled substances;
Preparing sales reports on a daily basis
Monitor drugs and other medical supplies levels and initiate the procurement process.
Monitor storage conditions i.e. expiry status and security of the pharmaceuticals
Providing outstanding levels of patient care
Receiving and collecting prescriptions following the SOPs as required by the PPB
Assembling and labeling medicines with the full description of contents etc as laid down in the SOPs
Advising Patients on their medications, taking into consideration relevant drug data sheet information
Being an active member of the Pharmacy team that delivers & promotes in store Professional Services.
Ordering dispensary stock, checking and accepting deliveries and updating the stock control system.
Stocking shelves, stock rotation, and date checking
Undertaking other duties appropriate to the post as required by the Head of Department.

Able to keep patients information confidential
Stock ordering / control systems experience
Be a holder of Diploma / Degree in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution
Must be registered and licensed by the Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons board (PPB)
Vast pharmaceutical products knowledge
At least two years’ working experience in a busy retail pharmacy environment
Knowledge of health management information system(HMIS) Medicentre system would be preferred.
