Job Summary

Position Level : Management Level

Organisational Relationship : Functional reporting to the CFO with 2 direct reports.

Compensation : Kshs 1400 per Hour Monthly hourly based pay inclusive sweat equity contribution + Project Milestone Bonus Approx Kshs 700,000 per annum on delivered KPI’s + Long Term Sweat Equity Kshs 1,800,000 (36 Month Vesting Period)

Payment Model : Monthly Fixed Pay with a 208+ hours / Month work schedule

Special Attributes : Business planning, entrepreneurship, analytical thinking, highly disciplined

Work Structure : 3 days / week office desk a week and telecommute reminder of the week.

Qualifications Finance & Commercial Lead

  • Bachelor’sMaster’s degree in a relevant discipline in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Certified Public Accountants (CPA) / (CFA) Qualifications, Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Member of a relevant professional body ICPAK / EACFFPC / KRATI / KESRA / KISM / CIPS
  • Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience gained from a reputable organisation.
  • Business & Financial modelling
  • Experience in Implementing & Using Dynamics 360 ERP an added advantage
  • Responsibilities

    1. MAIN TASK : BUDGETING & FORECASTING

  • Financial modelling
  • Preparation and review of budgets
  • Approval & reviewing of costs as per the budgets
  • Monitoring budgets versus actuals and contingency costs
  • 2. MAIN TASK : RISK & TAX MANAGEMENT

    Sub Tasks ( FINANCE & COMMERCIAL LEAD - Responsible, Accountable,Manage )

  • Preparation of statutory deductions and payments
  • PAYE and VAT reconciliation
  • Filing PAYE, VAT, WHT returns & reconciliations
  • Development of risk models involving market, credit and operational risk
  • Internal controls & procedures
  • Insurances
  • 3. MAIN TASK : PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

  • New staff hire and placement
  • Job descriptions and KPI setting and reviews

  • Payroll processing for approval
  • Payroll journal preparation and posting
  • Payroll payments and reconciliation
  • 5. MAIN TASK : STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

  • Internal and external audits
  • Preparation of board papers
  • Bank relations management
  • KRA relations management
  • Shareholders accounts management
  • 6. MAIN TASK : BILLING Sub Tasks ( FINANCE & COMMERCIAL LEAD - Responsible, Accountable,Manage )

  • Posting of invoices to the ERP system
  • Issue invoices to customers
  • Issue monthly customer statements
  • Update customer files with issued invoices
  • Process credit memos
  • Update the customer master file with contact information
  • Customer reconciliation
  • 7. MAIN TASK : TREASURY MANAGEMENT

    Sub Tasks ( FINANCE & COMMERCIAL LEAD - Responsible, Accountable,Manage )

  • Supplier payment
  • Cash tracking
  • Disbursement of cash through online & petty cash
  • Tracking and updating of cash register
  • Authentication of accounting forms and reviewing of the receipts attached
  • Preparing of payment vouchers, cheques and bank transfer request
  • Ensure all expenses are fully accounted for on a weekly basis
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Forex exchange transactions
  • Bank facility Negotiations LC , Bank discounting
  • Approvals of payments & expenditure
  • 8. MAIN TASK : SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

  • Supplier identification
  • Quotations sourcing
  • Quotations review
  • Purchase order creation from SAP
  • Process purchase orders and requisition of goods and services and communicate with vendor

  • Supplier reconciliations
  • Job Requirements

    Required education : Bachelor's degree

    Required relevant work experience : 7 years

    Required languages : English (Spoken : fluent Written : fluent)
